‘Don’t test our patience, restart talks lest it is too late: Mehbooba Mufti ‘BJP Talibanizing every institution’
Kulgam: Advising BJP led Central Government to go back and follow the ‘Vajpayee Doctrine’, People Democratic Party President and former Jammu Kashmir Chief Minister Saturday alleged that BJP has ‘Talibanized’ every autonomous institution of the country.
“At the barrel of the gun, BJP is scaring everyone. This party has brought disrepute to the beautiful democratic set up of India. It wants to divide people in the name of religion. People of Jammu and Kashmir have felt the brunt and now it is the time for other states of India to feel the impact,” Mehbooba Mufti said.
She was addressing to party workers at South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
She said Institutions like NIA, ED and others are being used to suppress the political opponents. “Those who question the BJP rule are being harassed,” she said.
Mehbooba Mufti while referring to the developments taking place in Afghanistan, said that super power America had to submit in Afghanistan. “I am telling New Delhi not to test our patience. The moment we will be out of patience, you will be no more. I am telling Union government to restart talks the way Atal Bihari Vajpayee did and restore Article 370 otherwise it will be too late,” she said.
In her speech, Mehbooba Mufti said, “Don’t test our patience and change your ways while you still have a chance. Remember how Vajpayee initiated the peace process. You must restart talks with Kashmiris and return whatever you have looted through illegal means.”
Mehbooba Mufti said that people of Kashmir didn’t accede to BJPs India. “At the time of accession, the then Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru who was a secular had pledged to maintain the sanctity and safeguard the special status of Muslims of Kashmir. We acceded to secular India and not BJPs India,” she said.
Mehbooba Mufti said people of Jammu and Kashmir would have never opted for India if BJP would have been there ruling the country.
In response to a question, she said that Taliban must give safe passage to the people who want to return to their countries. “Whole world is watching Taliban and they should not do something that world community goes against them,” she said. (KNT)
