PULWAMA: The gunfight between militants and Joint Forces in South Kashmir Hanjin village of Pulwama is in progress.
Latest reports said that after a lull, firing has resumed once again. Reports added that intermittent firing is going on near the encounter spot.
Sources told Kashmir News Trust that a soldier from 44 Rashtriya Rifles who had sustained injuries in the shootout has succumbed to his injuries.
They said a JCB driver who was brought near encounter site has also been hit and evacuated to hospital.
Sources added that the brother of a militant was sent into the house in which militants are trapped. He has informed the Forces that only one dead body in lying in the house and that is of his brother.
The operation was underway till the filing of this report. (KNT)
