SHOPIAN: Police arrested a former trade president from South Kashmir’s Shopian district on charges of physical assault.
The arrest was made after a shopkeeper alleged that former trade president and his nephews physically assaulted him and snatched his key of the vehicle and wallet when he was leaving for home.
Police sources said that a shopkeeper identified as Usman Turray registered a complaint at police station accusing his rival and former trade president Ghulam Nabi Trrray, a resident of Gagren Shopian and his two nephews of assault.
Police after taking cognizance of the complaint arrested the accused. A police official confirmed to Kashmir News Trust that former trade president and his two nephews have been booked in a case vide FIR number 184/2021 under section 341, 223, 379 at police station Shopian. (KNT)
