Brick kiln operating illegally demolished in Central Kashmir’s Beerwa

BUDGAM: Amid stiff resistance from some people, authorities Friday demolished a brick kiln that had allegedly come up illegally in Beerwa village of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

A team led by Tehsildar Beerwah Haroon Rashed and Station House Officer Beerwah Police Station emerged in Mumgund village of Beerwah and demolished a brick kiln that belonged to one Shabir Ahmed.

Tehsildar Beerwah Haroon Rashid told news agency Kashmir News Trust that some people showed stiff resistance but thankfully, the demolition drive ended peacefully.

“This brick kiln had been raised illegally and earlier we had imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 against the owner of brick kiln but still he resorted to operate illegally. Today that brick kiln was demolished,” he said. (KNT)
