Two explosions within a gap of five minutes rock high-security technical area of Jammu airport

 

 

JAMMU: The Indian Air Force (IAF) is investigating a possible drone attack after low-intensity explosions at the Air Force Station at Jammu Airport in the early hours of Sunday.

Sources said that two explosions, within a gap of five minutes, rocked the high-security technical area of Jammu airport in the early hours of Sunday. The first blast ripped off the roof of a building at the technical area of the airport. The second one was on the ground.

National Bomb Data Centre experts and forensic teams were rushed to the Jammu airport after the blasts were reported at around 2 AM. Two blasts caused damage to the roof of a building while another explosion took place in an open area.

No injuries or damage to any equipment have been reported so far.

Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is in touch with the Air Force Vice Chief, Air Marshal HS Arora.


The Jammu Airport runway and the Air Traffic Control are under the IAF control and is also used to operate passenger flights.
