Trooper detained after bullets recovered from his bag at Srinagar Airport

SRINAGAR: A trooper was detained for questioning after two live rounds were recovered from his bag at Srinagar Airport today.

Official sources told news agency Kashmir News Trust that during checking at Level-4 at Srinagar Airport, 2 live rounds of an Insas rifle were recovered from the bag of a CRPF Constable Rahul Kumar who is affiliated with 180 Battalion.

The trooper who is currently posted in Tral town of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district was scheduled to travel to Delhi by Air India Charter Flight (AI-3426).

Shortly after the recovery, the trooper was handed over to police post Humhama for questioning.

A police official feigned ignorance about the incident saying he will find it out if this is really happened. (KNT)
