Joint Commissioner Planning Ghulam Hasan Mir is the eye of the storm with Srinagar Mayor and some Corporators are demanding that he should be repatriated to his parent department.

The official data also belies the claims made by some Corporators that only 2 to 4 building permissions have been issued since Mir assumed the charge in Srinagar Municipal Corporation. Corporators made these claims while discussing the resolution against Mir on 29 May.

Official data further reveals those 314 cases of building permissions are still pending, but the data shows that such cases are pending because of the multiple reasons. In some cases, applicants have not deposited the fee while some cases are pending due to court disputes. (KNT)
