Covid-19 vaccination: Family attacks health workers in Bandipora village

BANDIPORA: Infuriated over the presence of Covid-19 vaccine team, a Bandipora family in North Kashmir attacked two Female Multi-Purpose Health Workers (FMPHW).

The incident occurred at Zeban Chuntimulla village of Bandipora.

Eyewitnesses told news agency Kashmir News Trust that family confronted the vaccination team when it tried to persuade them to go for Covid-19 vaccination. The family according to eyewitnesses not only dragged them out from the house but also pelted stones on them.

A member who was also part of the team while confirming the attack said luckily no one was injured in the attack. He identified the two FMPHWs as Zareena Akhtar and Bliquis Bano.

Pertinently, yesterday, a woman assaulted and abused a vaccination team in Baramulla. The woman barred the health workers from inoculating her husband. A video of that incident is viral on social media networking sites. (KNT)
