IGP asks protected persons to follow SOPs and not to visit anywhere without PSOs

Rakesh Pandit who was a protected person had visited the house of his friend without any security when he was shot dead by militants in Tral Bala area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on late Wednesday evening.

 

SRINAGAR: After the killing of a BJP leader in South Kashmir’s Tral, Police have asked protected persons not to go anywhere without their security guards.

Inspector General of Police Kashmir Zone, Vijay Kumar in a tweet said: “No protectee should go anywhere without PSOs.  Visits are allowed only after ground assessment of local threat is done. Request is to all protectees not to violate SOPs and risk their lives unnecessarily.”
